History:
1. Councillor Raushan Ara became the 67th Mayor of Ramsgate at the
Annual Council Meeting on 14th May 2019. Due to the COVID-19
disruption it was agreed at the Annual Council Meeting on 29th July
2020 that the Council would retain the entire structure until May 2021,
Councillor Raushan Ara would continue as the Mayor of Ramsgate. At
the Annual Town Council Meeting on 5th May 2021 Councillor Raushan
Ara was re-elected as Mayor of Ramsgate. At the Annual Town Council
Meeting on 4th May 2022 Councillor Raushan Ara was re-elected as
Mayor of Ramsgate. At the Annual Town Council Meeting on 6th May 2026
Councillor Raushan Ara was re-elected as Mayor of Ramsgate.

2. She is married with two sons.

3. She is a town and district councillor for Central Harbour Ward.

4. The Mayor is a member of Ramsgate Twinning Association and also a
member of Montefiore Heritage Association.

5. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Mayor delivered food
parcels to Ramsgate residents on behalf of the Salvation Army food
bank and supplied free meals to the homeless and free lunches to the
staff at Boots.
