Radford House, a versatile community hub in Ramsgate Town Centre

Previously the Fire Station in Ramsgate’s Effingham Street, this well-known historic building was bought by Ramsgate Town Council with a legacy from Mr Radford. The money was left for the benefit of Ramsgate and its community.
Retaining the building’s heritage, Radford House will undergo renovation works in 2026. Radford House is currently not accepting new bookings while refurbishment work is underway.

We have the industrial-style Fire Engine Hall on the ground floor, with 125m
2 space for events, wedding receptions, fairs, workshops, sport or music with an accessible toilet and entrance. Upstairs we have a lovely calm 50m
2 workspace ideal for training, teaching or conferencing and a meeting room for up to 10 people. There are also several individual rooms upstairs, hired as long-term workspaces. Prices are very reasonable, reflecting the current ‘meanwhile use’ prior to our renovation.

Working with hirers, event organisers and community groups is giving the Town Council the chance to find out what types of event work in this building and what does our community need from a ‘hub’? How should we plan for the future of this lovely historic building?
