Ramsgate Town Council is working on behalf of the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board to administer the first Community Action Grant Programme. The fund will support locally led projects that deliver visible, practical benefits for Ramsgate residents and contribute to one or more of the town’s five Pride in Place priorities.

The funding available:

• Small and medium grants: up to £10,000
• Larger grants: up to £15,000
• There is no minimum grant request
• The total funding available for this round is £150,000

What the fund is for?
The fund is intended to help established organisations, community groups, businesses, micro-entities, sole traders and other eligible applicants deliver projects that create stronger communities and thriving places. Projects may be new, may expand or strengthen existing work, or may sustain an effective activity where the application clearly explains the added value created by the grant impacting one or more of the Ramsgate Pride in Place Programme Priorities. Additionally, every application must demonstrate how it moves Ramsgate towards a year-round economy.

The five Ramsgate Pride in Place Programme priorities

Priority	How will this action
Open It Up	Bring back our town centre and jobs, strengthen local enterprise, increase activity and improve connections between places.
Clean It Up	Create cleaner, greener, more accessible streets and spaces and restore civic pride.
Light It Up	Help make streets and public spaces safer, brighter, better connected and more inclusive.
Raise It Up	Invest in young people, positive activity, skills, aspiration and future opportunities.
Join It Up	Improve health, wellbeing, connection and access to trusted community support.

Who can apply?
Eligible applicants may include voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, registered charities, constituted groups, community interest companies, micro and small businesses, sole traders and freelancers.

The contracting applicant must have an appropriate legal or governance basis, a bank account in the applicant’s legal name and the ability to pass the required due diligence checks for the responsible administration of public funds.

The Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board is committed to investing in the town's local economy and building community capacity. We strongly encourage applications from Ramsgate-based groups. Organisations located outside the immediate boundary are also eligible to apply, provided they have a proven track record locally and their proposal primarily benefits Ramsgate residents. To reflect this priority, an applicant's local presence and Ramsgate experience will form a weighted part of the assessment.

How to apply

2. Choose the most appropriate grant stream.
3. Download and complete the appropriate Word application form (either for a grant up to £10,000 or a grant up £15,000)
4. Attach the required supporting documents.
5. Email the completed form and attachments to Hannah Rowe at office.admin@ramsgatetowncouncil.gov.uk by midnight on Thursday 15th November 2026.

Ramsgate Town Council manages the grant process on behalf of the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board. Ramsgate Town Council officers are happy to guide you through how the fund works, discuss whether your project idea meets the eligibility criteria, and explain what the questions mean. However, we cannot write the application for you, nor can we influence or advise the decision-making panel to favour your project. The decision-making panel is made up of Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board members only.
