St. Laurence Church

The church, the oldest building in Ramsgate, dates from 1062. It was extended in the 12th and 13th centuries and built from flint and Caen stone.

It is mainly Norman and Early English in style with some Victorian alterations. The present clock was installed to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, Queen Victoria worshipped in the church as a child when on holiday and the East Window is a memorial to her.
