Walks are free with donations welcome. A sum of £3 is suggested. Tours are run by dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Whatever the weather, so long as members of the public turn up, they will carry on with the walks! The only Royal Harbour in the British Isles, the honour having been bestowed by King George IV in 1821. You will see Smeaton’s famous dry dock, learn of the vast fishing industry & hear of the miraculous evacuation of British troops from Dunkirk in 1940.
