Over the last few months, the Ramsgate Town Council Technicians have been working with Sharon Goodyer from Our Kitchen on the Isle of Thanet to help co-ordinate, locate and redistribute food across Thanet.

Sharon has been locating large food stores, which are being collected from FareShare in Ashford. The Technicians off loaded and redistributed to Food Banks across Thanet; Birchington Baptist Church, The GAP Project in Broadstairs, Rosslyn Court in Cliftonville, The Ramsgate Salvation Army, St Lawrence Parish Hall, St Pauls in Cliftonville and to Westgate-on-sea for Westgate Lifeboat Collection.

The Technicians have created food parcels and collected fruit and vegetables from the gleaners, whilst carrying on their normal services such as litter picking, grass cutting and general maintenance around the town.

Over 150 tonnes of food have been distributed by the Ramsgate Town Council Technicians during the COVID-19 lockdown.

We would like to say a massive thankyou to everyone that has come together to help others through this difficult time.
