Thanet Lifeguard Club

Our training sessions are held at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Sunday evenings 6:15pm - 8:15pm.

The purpose of our club is to teach and encourage water safety awareness and essential lifesaving skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and life skills

Our training sessions are split into two one-hour sessions.

The first hour is “Dry Training” where our members are taught CPR, First Aid, team building exercises, Beach / Pool / Open water safety through various activities.

The second hour session is “Wet training” where we teach our members the Royal Life Saving Society’s Rookie lifeguard program for our younger members & the Survive and Save program for our older members, or Life Saving Competition Training.

The Club also offers beach training during the summer months on Westbrook beach.

The Club also runs Water Safety talks, and basic first aid to other groups and try to get involved in lots of community activities including carnivals, beach cleans, community days and anything else we think will be a great learning experience for our members while also as much fun as possible for everyone involved.
