History:
Away from Ramsgate for several years when he was master and
Headmaster to various schools.

Shown skill and tact in his business dealings for the Borough, assisted
by the Mayoress, his wife.

1936 an important year, the year of the Coronation of Edward VIII,
and in accordance the Mayor was involved with the ancient rites of the
Cinque Ports.

helped to initiate improvements in Ramsgate without any extra burden
on the rate payer.

With reference to a new Railway from Dumpton to the Seafront.

During his office of 1936, trams in Ramsgate were replaced by
up-to-date buses.

Exceptions for a new suburb to be developed at Cliffsend, and an
attractive seafront there in.

Had instituted a new artificial beach which was attracting a good
number of users, and he also hoped to encourage more hotels to be
opened.

Also attempted to update the old town hall, and was worried about
unemployment.
