History:
Belonged to old Ramsgate family, carrying on one of the oldest
established business in the Borough, wine merchants established
around 1787.

Born Ramsgate 1847 studied locally; at Maidenhead and Bonn,
Germany, where he concluded his studies.

In October 1865 entered into Business with his father, carrying
on from 1885 on his own.

1889 entered Ramsgate Town Council as member for West
Central Ward. Elected again in 1892, and for a third time in
1895.

Involved in the improvement and benefit of the town, Front
Improvement, opening of Ellington Park and the Free Library.

(Helped on finance committee and also, helped to consolodate
town loans.)
