Cultivation Notice
You must cultivate (grow crops or flowers) on 75% of your plot. If you have large areas of lawn and unkempt, or non-cropped, beds you could receive a cultivation notice.
If you receive a cultivation notice, increase the area you’re cultivating before the re-inspection date. If things are not corrected and you fail the re-inspection, we could end your tenancy.
Rubbish and Polluting Materials Notice
If you have rubbish or materials that cause pollution on your allotment plot, you could receive a rubbish and polluting materials notice. You should act on this immediately.
Dangerous Sheds, Polytunnels and Greenhouses
If the Allotment Officer or Site Representative contacts you about your shed, polytunnel or greenhouse as it may be collapsing, leaning dangerously, or has broken panes of glass etc, you need to make it safe or remove it completely within the time permitted.
PLEASE NOTE - IMMEDIATE NOTICE OF TERMINATION WILL BE ISSUED IN THE EVENT OF:
- Breach of Fire Rules
- Use of Fireworks/Pyrotechnics, Air Rifles, Bows, Firearms, or any other type of weapon
- Abusive, threatening or Anti-Social Behaviour
Warning Letters will remain on the tenant’s file for a period of 12 months. If a tenant’s use of the plot is found to be unsatisfactory and/or against the Rules within the 12-month period, and where a previous Warning Letter has been issued, the tenant may receive a Second Warning Letter or an immediate Notice of Termination by the Council.
