News / Kent Police Update - May 2023
It is always nice to be asked to write an article for the Ramsgate Town Council CommunityAd Magazine. Unfortunately, this may be my last as PCSO for Central Harbour, Cliffsend, Nethercourt and Pegwell. I have served these wards for just over nine years and have enjoyed every minute.
During my time as a PCSO, I have organised three Sea Safety Emergency Service days, the last being held during the Ramsgate Royal Harbour Celebrations. I have assisted Ramsgate’s entry into South and South East in Bloom competition for the last three years achieving two SILVER and one SILVER – GILT, and helped with numerous gardening and litter picking sessions throughout Ramsgate, just to mention a few.
As you may or may not be aware, Kent Police started a Neighbourhood Review back in January and the decision was made to cut PCSO numbers throughout Kent. This process will come into place around June 6, 2023 resulting in no ward based PCSO’s, but proactive PCSO teams. Each ward will be allocated a PC instead.
The Kent Police Property Fund is generated from the sale, at auction, of items seized in police operations. They are a local, charitable organisation with a clear connection to Kent. You are welcome to apply. If you are a charity or organisation and need funds please check out eligibility process at
www.kent.police.uk. Applications can be made via

Please contact your local officer or use my name John Litchfield 58708 for any applications.
Ramsgate Police Station is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. When the station is closed, there is a yellow phone located outside the front entrance that can be used, free of charge, to report any issues.
Alternatively, incidents can be reported by calling
101 or online via the Kent Police website. If you see any crimes in progress or an emergency, please call
