East Kent Mencap Update

Local charity, East Kent Mencap, is delighted to be awarded a further three years’ funding for their Getting On with Learning Disabilities (GOLD) project from the National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

The GOLD project aims to combat social isolation for people with a learning disability in Thanet who live independently and receive less than five hours of support a week. Thanks to the funding, GOLD can continue to offer 1-1, confidential support to access information and understand it, as well as social groups and community projects with like-minded organisations and individuals.
