Family Fun at Ellington Park!

Home / About Ramsgate / News / Family Fun at Ellington Park!

04 May 2023

The Friends of Ellington Park are pleased to advise that we are planning several fun, family events for the rest of the year. They are all FREE entry and everyone is welcome!

In September, we will be celebrating Ellington Park’s 130th Birthday!

In 1893, the Ellington Estate was acquired by the then Ramsgate Corporation (now part of Thanet District Council), and opened as a public park, designed and laid out by the well-known landscape gardeners Joseph Cheal & Son (who also designed Dane Park, Margate and Hever Castle).

We will be celebrating the history and heritage of the park and would welcome local artists, groups, schools and entertainers to come and perform in the park to help us celebrate!

All to perform for free, but you would be welcome to bring your own donation buckets.

We would also be interested in hearing from food vendors with flavours from around the world to come along and Tickle our Tastebuds!

All must have Public Liability Insurance. Food vendors must have a Food Hygiene Certificate and be self-sufficient as there is no electricity supply. Please contact us for more information.

We are also working to retain our prestigious Green Flag and Heritage awards so if you would like to get involved and help us maintain this beautiful park, from May we will be arranging regular gardening and litter picking sessions on Wednesdays. Please meet at the café at midday.

For more information about these events or to become a member please email us at friendsofellingtonpark@gmail.com or to volunteer please contact ellingtonpark101@gmail.com.

Or visit our website www.ellingtonpark.org.uk.

And finally, we would like to thank all our members and volunteers for all of the help and support you give. We couldn’t do it without you!
