News / Ramsgate Town Council funds and installs defibrillator in Eastcliff
In August 2022, Councillors Albon, Crittenden and Huxley held a meeting at the Albion Hotel to discuss issues and concerns with residents. Towards the end of the meeting a gentleman came into the reception area, who belonged to a local running club, and he asked the question if there were any defibrillators along the Eastcliff, the Councillors were aware there wasn’t. They soon took this issue forward to see what they could do.
Councillor Steve Albon said: “After the meeting I started searching for defibrillators and finally ordered one at the cost of £1,200, which came out of my ward allowance. Unfortunately, there was a hold up and attaining one has taken months, but finally in the last couple of weeks, the machine has been delivered and installed at the Albion Hotel and we are very grateful for them allowing it to be placed in the hotel. I would like to pass my thanks to Ben Irvine, the owner of the hotel, and all the staff.”
Councillor Steve Albon adds: “This is a real benefit for our residents and visitors, hopefully it may never be needed. We just want to let the people know it is there and it is something that Ramsgate Town Council has provided for residents and visitors alike.”
