Key Updates - Council Meeting

Key updates from the Council Meeting held on Wednesday 25th January 2023

• The draft budget for 2023/24 was approved with an adjustment in order to accommodate a staff pay in line with the NJC pay award, which to date is unknown. The adjusted increase allows for an award up to 5%.


• The precept for 2023/24 was confirmed at £1,000,437.00; which represents a 2% increase to the sum paid by rate payers, compared against 2022/23. It is £82.26 for a Band D property (Note the Band D increase equates to £1.62 per annum).


• A grant of £4,000.00 was awarded from the Events Fund towards the Ramsgate International Film Festival for 2023.


• The Thanet Citizens Advice Bureau was awarded £20,000.00 from the Community Services budget, towards services provided in Ramsgate. Ramsgate Town Council would like the Citizens Advice Bureau to provide a face-to-face service.
