Key updates from the Town Promotion Committee Meeting held on Wednesday 4th January 2023
- Due to the cancellation of the New Year Fireworks, the committee agreed to vire the unspent funds into the Coronation budget and have a fireworks display as part of the Coronation activities in May. The Town Promoter is to investigate more environmentally friendly fireworks for this event.
- The Town Promoter will progress with a Visit Ramsgate leaflet and update the committee at the next meeting.
- The Town Clerk, in conjunction with the Town Promoter, is to look at how the Council can use the information from the Empty Shops Report in a more positive way.
- The feasibility and costings will be investigated by the Town Promoter in regards to the hanging poles.
- The committee agreed and approved the Active Ramsgate Brief document and the Active Ramsgate Project Manager Job Description, with recruitment to commence as soon as the 2023/2024 budget is approved.
- The Kitesurfing Championships will not be returning to Ramsgate in 2023. The budget for this will be put back into the general fund.
