A Message from Miss Ramsgate 2022

Hello everyone. My name is Lucy, I’m 18 years old, and I am very grateful to be holding the title of Miss Ramsgate 2022.

My carnival journey started back at the beginning of 2019, when I was just 14 years old. I remember I used to watch carnivals throughout my childhood, sitting on the pavement, looking at all the pretty princesses going past and wishing one day that could be me! My wish came true when I was crowned princess for the first time.

After having the best year of my life, meeting so many friends, having fun and coming out of my shell, I knew I couldn’t let it go, so I entered again in 2020 and was back as a princess again and one more time throughout 2021. The three years of being a princess gave me such confidence and taught me so many amazing things.

So, back in March 2022, I decided to enter one more time, and I was absolutely on cloud nine when I was crowned Miss Ramsgate 2022! It is such an honour to represent my town as a queen with my princesses. We always love to help out across Ramsgate, anything big or small. I was lucky enough to take part in the Queen’s Jubilee weekend in the town and down at Ramsgate Harbour.

To be able to attend carnivals all across Kent and sometimes even out to Essex is such a privilege. Showing who we are and where we come from is what makes me feel so blessed to be able to do this.

I’ve made so many memories that I will forever keep with me, and so many friends that I couldn’t imagine life without. It truly is an amazing experience and the little me who used to watch on the side-lines would never believe that she would be a part of it all.
