Ramsgate Town Council has said goodbye to Councillor Tony Knight who has resigned from the Council after serving for 3 years; Councillor Knight is moving abroad and is no longer able to represent the interests of the Sir Moses Montefiore Ward.

Thanet District Council will announce the vacancy and the electors of this ward will be asked if they want an election to fill the vacancy (if there isn’t an election the town council can co-opt a member – choose someone themselves). Councillor Knight was chair of the Amenities & Environment Committee and was keenly interested in the town’s allotments and green areas.

Councillor Steve Albon, Chair of Ramsgate Town Council, said “I would like to thank Tony for his contribution to the town council and wish him the very best in his new life in Spain.
