Key Updates - Amenities and Environment Committee Meeting

Home / About Ramsgate / News / Key Updates - Amenities and Environment Committee Meeting

24 March 2022

The Committee considered several matters including;
  • CARBON FOOTPRINT
    RESOLUTION: To adopt the Ramsgate Town Council Carbon Audit and use the document as guidance for the Climate Change Emergency Working Group Action Plan. Committee also wanted to note thanks to the Digital Communications and Marketing Officer for completing an excellent piece of work which took considerable time and effort.

  • CLIMATE CHANGE TASK GROUP
    RESOLUTION:
    (i) The Terms of Reference for the Climate Change Task Group to be approved with an amendment: add promoting biodiversity to the activities of the Group.
    (ii) The Town Clerk to advertise for non-Council members of the Group as detailed in her report.

  • MONTEFIORE WOODLAND – TREE WORKS
    RESOLUTION: All tree works as detailed in the report to be approved with the caveat that an English Oak is planted within the woodland following removal of the Turkey Oak.
    Note: Ramsgate Town Council does not make decisions in relation to tree works without due consideration. In this instance the tree works were approved on the grounds that limb removal of two trees would avoid the possibility of damage to a neighbouring property; one dead limb removal in order to ensure the tree survives and finally full tree removal in order to protect the safety of the general public.

This is not a summary of everything covered at this meeting, please see the official Minutes for the legal record of the meeting. You can also watch the entire discussion on our YouTube Channel. The above is intended to provide a snapshot of matters that may be of particular interest to residents.
