  • The committee considered three planning applications raising the following concerns:

    FH/TH/21/1642 – 1 Cottage Road, CT11 8HJ
Erection of a three-storey rear extension, flat roof rear dormer and first floor front bay window together with alterations to fenestration following demolition of existing rear extension.
RESOLUTION: Ramsgate Town Council raises no objection to the application.

    FH/TH/22/0089 – 15 Dane Crescent, CT11 7JU
Erection of two storey side extension to the rear, together with new rendered elements to the rear and side elevation.
RESOLUTION: Ramsgate Town Council raises no objection to the application.

    PA/TH/22/0132 – Berth 4 And 5, Port Of Ramsgate, Royal Harbour Approach, CT11 9FT
Application for prior approval for the installation of a 119m long berth following the removal of existing berth 4/5 under Part 18 Class A of Town Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015.
    RESOLUTION:
    i) In the light of the substantial amount of local concern; the amount of money being spent; and that TDC is the applicant and decision maker, RTC recommends that a full planning application is submitted.
ii) A document of questions provided by Cllr R Wing to be sent to TDC with RTC’s comments.
iii) RTC, due to the public perception of the role of TDC in this matter recommends that TDC seeks another authority to consider the application.

NB. The town council is a statutory consultee on planning applications; the decision is ultimately made by Thanet District Council.

This is not a summary of everything covered at this meeting, please see the official Minutes for the legal record of the meeting. The above is intended to provide a snapshot of matters that may be of particular interest to residents.
