Thanet Trust Free Clubs for Thanet

I am writing to you from Thanet Trust (TT), which is based in Lillian Road Ramsgate, in the Hereson Family and Community Centre.

The trust organise and stage many clubs and training courses in Thanet, to raise the quality of life in Thanet and beyond people. Three such clubs are, the Ramsgate History Club, the TT Thanet Friendship Club and the twice a week Craft Club.

These clubs are completely free and are very well supported and enjoyed by many, but we do have space for a few more members.

The Ramsgate History Club meets every Tuesday from 10am to 12noon and includes free tea/coffee and biscuits. It is very light-hearted and certainly not a heavy learning school type event. You will see several thousand images on the big screen, with lots of info and chat and it also gives you a chance to add your own thoughts and words. It is very sociable, friendly, and nostalgic, bringing back all those cherished memories of Ramsgate in bygone days.

The TT Thanet Friendship Club also meet in the Centre on a Friday from 2pm to 4pm with a similar format, but not Old Ramsgate. This session involves a variety of screen images, cartoon jokes and the various screen competitions. In fact, it ends up doing what the members wish to do. The tea break and accompanying chat takes up quite a bit of the session.

The Craft Club meets every Tuesday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm and every Friday 10am to 1pm – you can create whatever you wish, and we supply all that you need plus refreshments and yes, this is also free.
