This year's Holocaust Memorial Day theme is 'Be the light in the darkness' and it encourages everyone to take action to 'be the light'.
Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust under Nazi persecution and in other genocides, including those in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.
To mark the day, the Mayor of Ramsgate, Councillor Raushan Ara, will host a virtual memorial service which has been pre-recorded and can be seen below via the Ramsgate Town YouTube channel:
On the 27 January at 2pm, there will be a Zoom meeting, which will enable members of the public to participate in a Question and Answer session about the service and the topic. Details can be found below:

The concept for our service, consistent with this year’s theme, is to promote a cross-cultural community, bringing together different faiths and religions.
You are invited to watch the service at a time suitable for you and join the Zoom meeting at 2pm on 27 January.
