Kent Police Update - October 2019

14 October 2019

Kent Police
I was surprised this year when I received an award, along with many others, from the Mayor of Ramsgate. It was a surprise for me but such a great honour.

It has been a good summer with lots of events happening as usual. I look forward to summer months as this is when Ramsgate is at its best.

This year, I have met Sketch from E4’s ‘Tattoo fixers’ who was visiting Ramsgate with his family. I also had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Dixon and Koda the dog. Wayne has been walking around the Coast of Britain on a five-year mission collecting litter. When I spoke to Wayne he was impressed with the little litter that he had collected and said how tidy Ramsgate was.

I explained to Wayne that Ramsgate has a great community spirit and lots of dedicated volunteers, that are out at all times of the day and year, doing an amazing job to keep Ramsgate tidy and looking at its best. Thanks to you all.

The Ramsgate Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) will be changing soon, we will be losing a few that will become regular Police but will be getting a few new PCSOs as well. Don’t panic, I’m not going anywhere.

Ramsgate will also be getting another Town Beat PC to Assist PC Hitchcock, which again will be another great addition for Ramsgate.

I am still holding my monthly surgeries at Ramsgate Library. You can find the posters in shop windows advertising the dates, these are also below:
November 6 10:30am – 11:30am
December 16 10:30am – 11:30am

Please look out for dates of the Neighbourhood Engagement Meetings (these dates are not set yet).

Please remember Ramsgate Police Station is open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. When the station is closed there is a yellow phone on the wall outside, this is linked to the Maidstone control room. Kent Police can also be followed on twitter @kentpolicethan.
