Ellington Park May Fayre returns this year

Home / About Ramsgate / News / Ellington Park May Fayre returns this year

30 April 2019

Ellington Park
The Friends of Ellington Park would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has generously supported them over the years.

Our bid for a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund was finally successful and Ellington Park has been awarded £1.64 million towards a regeneration project. Soon we will be seeing where all our lottery ticket money has gone: the restoration of the bandstand, new railings, a toilet and cafe. Wonderful news for the Park and the town of Ramsgate!

This will be the last May Fayre for at least two years while the regeneration of the park is taking place. The 2019 event promises to be better and bigger than ever. A marvellous mixture of live music will be playing throughout the afternoon and Ramsgate and District Model Engineering will be running their steam train rides during the day. Regular features like Marriott’s Fun Fair is back as well as Kidz Karts and Bubble Football.

Bring along your pets (any size or breed) for the popular Fun Dog Show. As well as our beer tent there will be a wider range of food stalls this year. You can find stalls of every description and plenty of new ones too. Welcome to Femi again, the popular caricature artist. New attractions for 2019 are Classic Cars and a Photo Booth, so come and get photographic souvenirs of the last May Fayre.

Don’t forget to visit our popular park bookshop where you can find hundreds of good quality, second-hand books. The old open-top bus will be ferrying people from the harbour to the park all afternoon.

Come along and enjoy the lovely, friendly atmosphere. There’s something for everybody!
