News / Ramsgate Town Team News - July 2018
The Town Team is a group of volunteers who undertake various projects to improve our town. If you can spare an hour or two occasionally to help with activities such as painting, litter picking, planting or weeding, or if you have skills in fundraising, bid writing or project management, please get in touch with us on
info@ramsgatetownteam.org.uk.
We have two new initiatives to let you know about:
RAMSGATE LITTER FORUM
We have established a Forum where groups working on improving the town can meet with Thanet District Council (TDC) Operational Services representatives to reduce our litter problem. So far we’ve targeted commercial waste, public litter bins and clean-ups of ‘grotspots’. If you represent a community or residents group that undertakes clean-ups or litter picks, we’d love to hear from you, or if you have issues to report that we should be working on, let us know. (To report a specific litter problem to TDC, the quickest way is to use the My Thanet or Fix My Street apps on your phone.) visit
www.thanet.gov.uk/info-pages/my-thanet-app/ for more information.
Meanwhile our
Ramsgate ROAD (Ramsgate Residents One A Day) group, whose members all commit themselves to picking up at least one piece of litter every day, now has nearly 400 members, that’s 146,000 fewer pieces of litter on our streets every year! To join, visit
www.facebook.com/groups/RamsgateROAD/ or email us at the address above.
RAMSGATE FUNDING FORUM
This is a new online Forum for groups in Ramsgate seeking funding to share information about what’s available, and perhaps partner up on projects. Anyone can join: visit
www.facebook.com/groups/154021595119641/ or search online for Ramsgate Funding Forum for more details.
