Ramsgate Town Council has approved £25,229.00 in grant funding for nine local projects and activities, following decisions made at its Full Council meeting on 26 August 2026.

The awards provide practical support for youth filmmaking, local heritage, arts development, public events, creative journalism and a musical wellbeing programme for vulnerable mothers and babies.

Key funding updates
Ramsgate Fund – £4,829.00 awarded
  • Kent Film Foundation – £1,929.00 for a weekly filmmakers’ youth club.
  • The Ramsgate Society – £500.00 towards six blue plaques.
  • High Street Social Club for Arts in Ramsgate CIC – £2,400.00 to support its work to become self-sustaining.

Events Fund – £16,400.00 awarded
  • Remixd CIC – £2,000.00 for the Festival of Optimism, taking place from 1 to 3 October 2026, with the Ramsgate programme on 2 October.
  • Sporefaring Festival – £4,000.00 for the Sporefaring Mushroom Festival, taking place from 16 to 18 October 2026.
  • Ramsgate Historic Quarter Scheme – £500.00 for the ‘In Search of the Sacred Isle’ book launch on 17 October 2026.
  • Liminal Events CIC – £9,900.00 for Ramsgate Winter Festival, running from 29 November 2026 to 1 February 2027, with key funded activities from 10 to 13 December and on 31 December 2026.

Community Services Fund – £4,000.00 awarded
  • Creative Futures – £2,000.00 for Together We Sing, a musical wellbeing project for vulnerable mothers and their babies.
  • Paddle Media – £2,000.00 for creative journalism workshops and the Strange Tourist Training Newsroom.

Following these awards, the remaining balances for 2026-27 are £3,093.80 in the Ramsgate Fund, £13,154.00 in the Events Fund and £459.50 in the Community Services Fund. Ramsgate Town Council welcomes applications from eligible local organisations and community groups for the next funding round; completed applications must be submitted by 4 November 2026.
