An update regarding the recent incident of criminal damage in Ramsgate town centre, where several shop windows were smashed alongside that of the window at Ramsgate Police Station.

I’d like to reassure you that this was an isolated incident, and thanks to the swift actions of the attending officers and support from the public, the male suspect was arrested at the scene. He has since been put before the courts and sentenced to 23 weeks in prison, along with a requirement to pay varying levels of compensation to the affected businesses.

Thank you to everyone in the community who came together so quickly to support the victim stores. Your cooperation and willingness to help truly make a difference.

In other news, we are currently processing several Community Protection Notice (CPN) applications for individuals who have committed Anti-social behaviour town centre due to their behaviour. These matters are now awaiting their court dates. Please be assured that the police will continue to deal with anti-social behaviour as robustly as possible to ensure Ramsgate remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
