Ramsgate Town Shed has a new space

Home / About Ramsgate / News / Ramsgate Town Shed has a new space

28 January 2026

After the launch of the Ramsgate Town Shed, its popularity made it clear that its location at the old fire station, Radford House, wasn’t the right place for it because the Shed needed a bespoke site, where work could be ongoing, and opening days added as more people wanted to take part.

Finding a space for the Shed has taken a while, and the team is now putting the finishing touches to a new Ramsgate Town Shed, which is now located in 12 School Lane. The space is just being completed, with all the work undertaken by the ‘Shed Head’ group of volunteers. Derek and Dave have pushed everything forward, supported by Neville and Phil, with lots of people popping in for short sessions. Getting a small kitchen area meant there could even be a kettle for tea, which was really important to keep spirits going!

At the time of writing, we’re just arranging the opening day, but by the time you read this article, we will be able to welcome visitors. The Shed is for anyone aged over 18 who wants to spend time working with wood and its associated skills. If you or someone you know would enjoy coming along, please get in touch and we’ll organise a visit for a session in our lovely new Shed – a perfect place to make friends, do your own project, enjoy being busy and whiling away time.

Please contact us via radford.events@ramsgatetowncouncil.gov.uk or 07939 542990.

The Shed is supported by Ramsgate Town Council.
