Kent Police Update - January 2026

Home / About Ramsgate / News / Kent Police Update - January 2026

01 January 2026

I’m PC Taylor 14910, and I just wanted to introduce myself as the new beat officer covering Central Harbour ward in Ramsgate. I look forward to meeting you out and about in the town whilst on foot patrol.

Last year has delivered some long-awaited improvements to the way in which Police engage with our communities. Although there has been a long-standing tradition of providing Police Community Support Officers to each ward that make up the Thanet District, the recently implemented Neighbourhood Policing Review in Kent has sought to maintain or enhance the service already provided to the public, in particular the service provided to victims and witnesses.

Contact, visibility, and vulnerability must remain core to Neighbourhood Policing, together with geographical personal ownership of wards by uniformed Police Officers and the tactical capability to respond effectively to demands locally, as well as providing support to those areas requiring a longer-term problem-solving approach.

I have lived in Thanet my whole life, so I know the district extremely well. I will be introducing you to colleagues that will support me in these wards, demonstrating our commitment to provide a visible Police presence in your areas.

I will be spending as much time as possible on foot, getting to know the area and the people who live there, listening to your concerns and addressing issues where they arise.

Please contact Kent Police on 999 in an emergency or via 101 or use the Kent Police website for non-urgent reporting.
