New Year’s Eve in Ramsgate: Come for the Parade, Stay for the Party!

The celebrations begin early on New Year’s Eve with a vibrant parade through Ramsgate, bringing colour, music and community spirit to the streets. It’s the perfect way to gather friends and family, soak up the atmosphere and start the night in true Ramsgate style. The parade sets off from St George’s Church at around 4.45pm, travelling through the town centre, along Harbour Parade and finishing at Ramsgate Tunnels.

GET INVOLVED – LANTERN WORKSHOPS
Want to join the parade and create your own lantern? Drop in to St George’s Church, Church Hill, CT11 8RA for one of the free workshops:

Monday 29 December: 10.30am–12.30pm & 2.30pm–4.30pm
Tuesday 30 December: 10.30am–12.30pm & 2.30pm–4.30pm
Wednesday 31 December: 10.30am–12.30pm

PARADE TIMINGS
4.00pm – Meet at St George’s Church to collect lanterns
4.40pm – Parade forms up
4.45pm – Parade sets off through the town centre, along the harbour and finishes at Ramsgate Tunnels
People can cheer on the parade through the town centre, Harbour Parade and along the lower promenade.

HARBOUR LIGHTS AT DUSK
As dusk falls, the Royal Harbour takes centre stage, with beautifully illuminated boats creating a magical coastal backdrop. This is the final night to enjoy the full harbour lights display this season.

NEW YEAR’S EVE: EAT, DRINK & CELEBRATE
As the evening continues, Ramsgate’s bars, pubs, cafés and restaurants will be hosting New Year’s Eve specials.

St George’s Church has something special for those musical mathematicians amongst us (or for those that like pretty patterns!) with a light show on the lantern tower from just after 10pm, right up to midnight, inspired by Fibonacci Sequence…

NEW YEAR’S DAY IN RAMSGATE – THE FAMOUS NEW YEAR’S DAY DIP
Hearty breakfasts are being served from around 9am in a variety of venues across town. Dipping starts at midday, followed by warming drinks and live music at The Queen’s Head.
