Ramsgate Town Council Champions Local Businesses with Festive Support

Ramsgate Town Council is committed to making Ramsgate a thriving town centre and supporting independent businesses. As part of this ongoing work, the Council’s Town Centre & Tourism Manager has partnered with local traders to deliver the annual Late-Night Shopping Event on Thursday, December 11.

This initiative is more than a festive celebration – it reflects the Council’s strategy to revitalise the high street, encourage footfall, and strengthen the local economy. By creating opportunities for businesses to showcase what they offer, Ramsgate Town Council is helping to keep the town centre vibrant and welcoming.

The event will feature:

• A Christmas market in Charlotte Court.
• Independent shops across Addington Street, Harbour Arches and the town centre offering festive treats and special deals.
• Entertainment including Samba Ya Wantsum and the dancing Christmas tree.
• Ramsgate Living Advent Calendar hosted by Silvers.
• Free raffle tickets with every purchase in participating shops (first prize: £50 voucher).
• The launch of the Light Up Ramsgate trail and the sparkling harbour illuminations, celebrating the boat owners who light up their boats as a Christmas treat.
• Magical iDeer installations along the trail.

These activities are designed to draw visitors into Ramsgate, support local businesses, and celebrate community spirit. The Council encourages residents and visitors to join in, shop local, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
