04 December 2025

Ramsgate Town Council is pleased to announce the approval of a new budget plan for 2026/2027, shaped by the voices of over 1,500 residents who took part in the “Plan for Neighbourhoods” consultation for Thanet District Council.

The Council’s decision is guided by the three priorities most frequently highlighted by residents:
  1. Tackling Antisocial Behaviour:
Residents identified community safety and the need to address antisocial behaviour as their highest priority. The Council will strengthen partnerships and invest in projects that improve safety, visibility, and confidence in neighbourhoods.

  2. Ensuring Access to Good Healthcare:
Quality of life in Ramsgate is closely linked to access to reliable healthcare services. The Council will continue to advocate for improved healthcare provision and support initiatives that promote wellbeing.

  3. Supporting the Local High Street:
A thriving town centre is vital for Ramsgate’s future. The Council will focus on revitalising the high street, supporting local businesses, and promoting Ramsgate as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

In addition to these top priorities, residents also called for improvements in the attractiveness of the town centre, cleanliness of streets, jobs and economic opportunity, community infrastructure, transport and accessibility, and environmental care.

Next Steps:
The Council will develop outline costings and proposals for further discussion that support these aims. Residents will receive regular updates, ensure transparency and demonstrate how their feedback is driving real change in the community.

Chair of the Council, Councillor Steve Albon commented:
This plan is a testament to the power of community engagement. By listening to residents and acting on their priorities, Ramsgate Town Council is committed to delivering visible improvements and building a town everyone can be proud of.
