A warm welcome to Ramsgate Croquet Club

The 2025 croquet season is now underway at Ramsgate Croquet Club. We are a small, friendly club that always welcomes and encourages new members.

The club is situated on the Royal Esplanade next to the Bowling Club and Boating Pool and has four immaculately kept lawns and a welcoming clubhouse. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful settings in the country.

We are a friendly group of people who enjoy playing the game - we have members who simply want to have fun, meet people and get some exercise in the outdoors as well as those who enjoy playing in competitions around the county and further afield.

Croquet is a great game enjoyed by all ages, abilities and levels of experience. It’s an ideal game for people who may find some sport quite challenging but want to be active, healthy and meet new people.

During the summer months we also host social functions for visiting groups and organisations. If you belong to a group or just want to organise a fun event with some friends, please do get in touch.

We are always happy to see new faces and will offer tuition and support if you are new to the game.

We also have a small junior section who play every Sunday with tuition from our coaches. If there are any young people who might be interested in trying the game, please get in touch.

If you would like to try it out, please just pop down to the club on our club days, Tuesdays or Thursdays, where there will always be a friendly face ready to introduce you to the game. No special equipment is required, just a pair of flat shoes or trainers. We have mallets for your use, and we offer free taster sessions for people who want to find out more about the game.

For those interested in joining the club and developing their croquet skills further, we offer guidance from qualified club coaches and a range of membership options. We also run internal competitions during the summer months.
