Summer is well and truly here and we hope that everyone is enjoying the hopefully good weather!

I wish to draw your attention to the use of e-scooters on our town’s roads and parks. The use of these scooters is illegal in any public place and can only be used on private land (with the permission of the landowner).

If stopped by the police and prosecuted you may receive a fine, points and the scooter itself seized.

The use of these scooters can be extremely dangerous if used inappropriately and we have received reports of scooters being ridden on pavements and contravening road traffic signs such as no entry.

As always, we would like to hear from you about any issues you are having; any vulnerable persons living in your area and any reports of outstanding community work that has been done. We truly believe working in partnership with the local community to achieve the same common goal of:

Creating a safe, clean and caring community that we can be proud of and for others to aspire to.

Please contact Kent police on 999 in an emergency or via 101 or use the Kent Police website for non-urgent reporting.
