POW in the Park
Free family arts and culture festival
Saturday 21st June 2025
11:00-21:00
Ellington Park, Ramsgate
Right here, right now! Join POW Thanet for the ultimate outdoor party this Summer Solstice.
Celebrating everything that makes Thanet great - from amazing performers and creative artisans, to workshops, talks, great food, and an opportunity to meet the community groups, charities and businesses that make our Isle so unique - POW in the Park is returning for a third year at Ellington Park.
With activities for all ages and genders, there’s loads of free activities including:
Explore your creativity in the Arts & Crafts Tent and make a cardboard city, create a collage monster, take part in a writing workshop, or explore the many activities dotted around the Park.
Performances from local poet Sarah Tait and children’s theatre companies Ruckus Theatre and Seeing Red!
Find a moment of calm at the Wellness Tent hosted by Shala Women with free classes including Mother’s Circle, Chair Yoga, a Menopause Workshop, Reflexology and a Solstice Women's Circle.
Support independent creators and shop the Makers Market curated by local Illustrator Molly Pickle.
Dance it up at the Kid Rave and get competitive at the Silly Olympics with Tootles & Nibs
Bike rides with Cycling UK and a pop up with Thanet Girls Can.
Meet local community superstars like Windmill Community Gardens, Oasis Domestic Abuse Service, Heritage Lab CIC, Beyond the Page, Plastic Free Thanet, and Strange Tourist to name a few and discover how you can get involved.
This year POW are partnering with Ramsgate Festival of Sound to continue the party into the evening. Bringing fabulous feral energy is the chaotic, campy, feminist, electro-disco-punk band: CHEWY SHE with support from local DJs.
CHEWY SHE blends excellent musicianship, physical theatre, comedy, innovative visuals and stunning costumes. The result is a show that has everyone laughing, dancing, questioning, and partying as the curtains close on the longest day of the year. They have
performed on the Margate circuit and across the UK, with past gigs at Where Else?, Margate Arts Club, Smugglers Festival, Wilderness and Greenman.
Whether you’re with friends, family or enjoying solo, this summer party is for everyone and donations on the day will help POW create a new permanent public mural in Thanet to celebrate the future of gender equality as part of POW’s 10th anniversary, a Decade of Dissent!
With thanks to our supporters: Ramsgate Town Council, Orbit Housing, and Heritage Lab Ramsgate.
