News / Ramsgate Town Council Approves 2025-2026 Budget with Small Precept Increase
Ramsgate Town Council has set
its budget for 2025/2026, ensuring continued investment in local projects and
services while keeping any cost increase to residents as low as possible.
The Council has approved a precept
of £1,127,248, which includes a 3% increase. For a typical Band D
property, this means an extra £2.57 per year—just under 5p a week.
This small rise allows the Council to keep improving Ramsgate without making a
big impact on household budgets.
This year’s budget will help
fund:
- Major community projects and asset
improvements, with around £230,000 earmarked for
investment.
- Environmental initiatives,
including funding for the Climate Change Task Group.
- Safety upgrades,
including new road signs and protective gear for Council technicians.
- Support for local events, town promotion,
and community grants to keep Ramsgate thriving has
increased.
- A dedicated fund for maintaining Custom
House, ensuring the historic building is preserved for
future generations.
- A seasonal accessible toilet at the
Western Undercliff.
The budget allows for investment
in important projects while keeping the impact on residents as low as possible.
