Welcome to Ramsgate Croquet Club

If you’re looking for an activity which satisfies your competitive instinct or just fancy a friendly game as well as getting to know some new people, why not give Croquet a try? All that is needed is a pair of flat-soled shoes as the Club provides mallets.

Although the season is coming to an end, we will be playing until the third week in December so there’s still a chance to come along and find out whether croquet might be for you! Croquet is enjoyed by all ages and abilities - you don’t need any experience. It’s an ideal game for people who might find other sports more challenging. It’s a great way to get outdoors, be active and meet new people.

The club is situated on the Royal Esplanade next to the Bowling Club and Boating Pool and has four immaculately kept lawns and a welcoming clubhouse. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful settings in the country.

We are a friendly group of people who enjoy playing the game. We have members who simply want to have fun, meet people, be outdoors and get some exercise as well as those who enjoy playing in competitions held at the club, around the county and further afield.

If you would like to play socially, our golf croquet club days are Tuesdays and Thursdays when there will always be lots of people ready for a game. Members who play association croquet generally play on Wednesdays and Fridays. Lawns are also available at other times (Monday through to Friday from 9:30am until dusk). Lawn maintenance usually takes place on Monday and Friday mornings so play may be restricted then.

We have “Roll up” sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings when no competitions are running, so people can just turn up at the club and there will be members there to play with and/or advise on playing.

We also have a small junior section who play every Sunday with tuition from our coaches. If there are any young people who might be interested in trying the game please do get in touch.

For those interested in joining the club and developing their croquet skills further we offer guidance by qualified club coaches and a range of membership options. As a member you’ll have access to a lawn booking system and a WhatsApp group to arrange games with fellow members.
