At Ramsgate you will find a friendly club that welcomes and encourages new members.
The club is situated on the Royal Esplanade next to the Bowling Club and Boating Pond and has four immaculately kept lawns and a welcoming clubhouse. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful settings in the country.
We are a friendly group of people who enjoy playing the game - we have members who simply want to have fun, meet people and get some exercise as well as those who enjoy playing in competitions around the county and further afield.
If, as most members do, you would like to play socially our golf croquet club days are Tuesdays and Thursdays when there will always be lots of people ready for a game. Members who play association croquet generally play on Wednesdays and Fridays but lawns are also available at weekends if there are no competitions taking place. As a member you will have access to a lawn booking system and a WhatsApp group to arrange games with fellow members.
If you would like to play competitively, we play both individually and as a club in numerous competitions around the country and we also run internal competitions over the summer months for all levels of player from beginner to expert.
If you would like to try it out, then please come along to one of our Club Days either on Tuesday or Thursday mornings when there will always be a friendly face ready to welcome you to the club and the game.
All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes. We have four lawns; a stock of mallets and we’ll give you the basic instruction you’ll need. We offer free taster sessions for people who want to find out more about the game.
Croquet is enjoyed by all ages, abilities and levels of experience. It is an ideal game for people who might find certain sports more challenging but want to be active, get healthy, be out in the fresh air and meet new people.
During the summer months we also host social functions for visiting groups and organisations and have a lovely clubhouse complete with a licensed bar. If you belong to a group or just want to organise a fun event with some friends, please do get in touch. We are always happy to see new faces and will offer tuition and support if you are new to the game.
We also have a small junior section who play every Sunday with tuition from our coaches. If there are any young people who might be interested in trying the game, please get in touch.
For those interested in joining the club and developing their croquet skills further we offer the guidance of qualified club coaches and a range of membership options.
