News / Make Croquet your New Year resolution!
Ramsgate Croquet Club would like to introduce you to the game of croquet! Perhaps 2024 is the year you decide to give it a go?
The club is closed from December 21, 2023, until the beginning of March - depending on the weather, of course. We are always keen to welcome new members to the club and would love you to come along when we reopen to find out more about the game - an ideal addition to your list of New Year resolutions!
We are situated in a beautiful location on the Royal Esplanade overlooking the sea and are a friendly, welcoming bunch of croquet enthusiasts.
Our club has four immaculately kept lawns and is regarded as one of the most beautiful settings in the country. We host our own events and competitions as well as major tournaments attended by some of the highest-ranking players in the country and, indeed, the world.
Croquet is a lawn game of strategy and skill. Men and women play together - on equal terms - and it is enjoyed by all ages, abilities and levels of experience. It’s an ideal game for people who might find certain sports more challenging but want to be active, get healthy, be out in the fresh air and meet new people.
We run free introductory sessions for people who want to give it a go and find out more about the game.
We host social functions for visiting groups and organisations and have a lovely clubhouse complete with a licensed bar.
No special equipment is required - mallets are provided and all you need is some flat soled shoes.
For those interested in joining the club and developing their croquet skills further, we offer guidance of qualified club coaches and a range of membership options.
For more information either come down to the club (check we are open first!) or email
