News / Town Promoter Update - November 2021
As we write our articles a couple of months before the magazine hits your doormat, it is always a challenge to make sure the content is relevant and since 2020, this has got harder to anticipate. But if all is well, Ramsgate should be in for a fantastic Christmas with many of our favourite events back on the calendar and a few little extras to boot!
As is the usual tradition in Ramsgate, the Christmas Lights Switch On will be on the last Sunday of November, which means November 28 is the first date for your diaries. Geoff will be returning with his land train, the naughty elves will be naughtier than ever (they haven’t been out in a while.) and the countdown will be as cheesy as ever (but won’t include six false starts this year, I promise!!). We will be joined by the Handmade Craft Fair and lots of other festive features, including the one and only Santa, who can’t wait to see all the well-behaved children of Ramsgate!
During December, the fabulous Looping the Loop will be performing an outdoor pantomime so keep an eye on their website and social media pages for more details of when and where! We will be having a Late Night Shopping Evening in the town and other Christmas fairs may also happen if all goes to plan! We may even throw in a Wonderful Winter Parade...
Most of our local Art Galleries will be putting on Christmas Exhibitions, many of which also sell unique gifts, so I hope lots of us will try and do some of our pressie shopping in our town centre. Head over to our Visit Ramsgate website and check out the maps section where you can find inspiration via our Interesting Independent Shops, Retro Shopping and Art Galleries maps. The Visit Ramsgate QR code is below to give you quick access.

To round off the year, we hope to say goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022 with a firework display off Ramsgate Main Sands, which I am sure will be a blast!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!
