As we head towards the warmer months people will be drawn to our town’s fantastic beach and Royal Harbour. To help keep our beaches safe, Thanet District Council have a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in place that covers all the beaches in Thanet.

The PSPO enables an authorised person (which includes Police and council officers) to issue fines to people who breach certain parts of the order such as drinking alcohol or having bonfires. The image below shows more of the conditions of the order. More information can be found by visiting www.thanet.gov.uk/beaches.

Just as a reminder, the local officers for Ramsgate are:
Central Harbour Ward: PC Jason Hills and PC Ryan Brown.
Eastcliff and Sir Moses Montefiore Wards: PC Kieran Lawford and PC Duane Parsons.
Nethercourt, Cliffsend and Pegwell, and Newington Wards: PC James Howard.
Northwood Ward: PC Matt Albers.
Minster Ward: PC Andy Howe.

As always, we would like to hear from you about any issues you are having; any vulnerable persons living in your area and any reports of outstanding community work that has been done. We truly believe working in partnership with the local community to achieve the same common goal of:

Creating a safe, clean and caring community that we can be proud of and for others to aspire to.

Please contact Kent police on 999 in an emergency or via 101 or use the Kent Police website for non-urgent reporting.
