Alderman Herbert Horace Green

History:
Youngest son of Alderman William Vincent Green J.P. who was
himself elected Mayor of Ramsgate in 1890.

Born in London in 1862, youngest Mayor to have held office in
Borough, thus being 39 at the time of his election, youngest
Mayor to have held office in 1900.

First sought election in 1890 to the town council, as representative
for Sir Moses Montefiore Ward.

1893 on death of Alderman Woolcott, Green was elected to
aldermanic bench.

Chairman of Water Committee

Ramsgate representative of the Isle of Thanet joint Hospital Board.

Also a member of the Isle of Thanet Board for poor law Guardians.

Took an interest in numerous local friendly society's.
