Years Elected: 1943

History:
During his year of office actively involved himself in all aspects of
the community.

Raised £1,600 for local and national charities, £500 of which had
been put into the Mayors distress fund.

Post-war restoration and re-development had been very important
to Councillor Twigger and securing government compensation to
help with the schemes.

Also interested in a possible re-organisation of local government
and the establishing of a joint planning authority for Thanet.

With help of Captain Balfour the member for Thanet, Councillor
Twigger has obtained permission for the removal of coastal
defences.

Chairman of joint planning authority, visited schools to celebrate
diamond Jubilee of incorporation.

Showed great energy and enthusiasm for Ramsgate's "Salute to
the soldier" week.
