News / Weekly Security Patrol Update – Late December 2025 to Early January 2026
Ramsgate Town Council continues to receive weekly patrol logs, photos, and bodycam footage from our Probe Security officers. Here’s what our security team did over the festive period and into the New Year:
Supporting Residents and Businesses
- Officers regularly checked in with local shops, listened to feedback, and responded to concerns about aggressive behaviour and shoplifting. They worked with businesses to keep the town centre safe and reassured staff and customers.
- They helped manage crowds during busy periods, such as parades and market days, and ensured public spaces remained safe and welcoming.
Dealing with Incidents and Anti-Social Behaviour
- Officers responded to altercations, including separating parties during a fight and moving on individuals who were banned from the town or causing a nuisance. They also dispersed groups of children being a nuisance in the High Street and asked cyclists to dismount in busy areas.
- They calmed down aggressive individuals and ensured that any issues were dealt with quickly and professionally, often working alongside the police when necessary.
Helping Vulnerable People
- Officers spoke with homeless individuals, checked on their welfare, and carried out welfare checks on people sleeping rough. They also responded to reports of people in distress and made sure everyone was safe.
Keeping Public Spaces Clean and Safe
- Daily patrols covered parks, car parks, gardens, the sea front, and busy streets. Officers reported and photographed issues such as overflowing bins, exposed cables, graffiti, and rubbish, and ensured these were passed on to the relevant authorities.
- They monitored public toilets, checked sharps boxes, and handed in found items such as nitrous oxide canisters for safe disposal.
Community Engagement
- Officers spoke to residents, passers-by, and councillors, who welcomed their presence and gave positive feedback. They provided directions, listened to concerns, and encouraged people to report issues directly to the Town Council or Kent Police as appropriate.
Our security team is out every day, talking to people, checking trouble spots, and stepping in when needed. If you see something worrying, please let us know. We’re here to help keep Ramsgate safe for everyone.
Please remember: These security officers do not replace the police. Residents and business owners must still report all crimes and emergencies directly to Kent Police.
Look out for our next update next week!
