Weekly Security Patrol Update - 22 December

Ramsgate Town Council continues to receive weekly patrol logs, photos, and bodycam footage from our Probe Security officers. Here’s what our security team did last week (15 – 21 December 2025) to help keep Ramsgate safe:

Supporting Residents and Visitors

• Officers helped a lady whose mobility scooter broke down, pushing her to safety and getting it working again. They also assisted a woman who had fallen in the high street, helping her up and making sure she was comfortable.
• When an elderly lady outside Poundland had a panic attack, officers calmed her down and made sure she was safe.

Responding to Incidents

• Officers intervened in shoplifting incidents at Iceland, Poundland, and Savers, working with staff and using bodycam footage to help identify suspects. They also responded to reports of banned individuals in the town, moving them on when necessary.
• A report of a cat stuck in a recycling bin led officers to call the fire brigade, resulting in the cat being rescued and reunited with its owner.
• Officers spoke to groups causing disturbances, including dispersing crowds outside shops and calming down drinkers in Charlotte Court.

Working with the Community

• Officers regularly checked in with local shops, listened to concerns about security and cleanliness, and helped businesses join the Thanet Safe scheme.
• They spoke to residents, passers-by, and councillors, who welcomed their presence and gave positive feedback.

Keeping Public Spaces Safe

• Daily patrols covered parks, car parks, gardens, the sea front, and busy streets. Officers checked for fly tipping, monitored sharps boxes in public toilets, and made sure these areas were safe for everyone.

Working with Kent Police

• Officers worked alongside Kent Police, sharing information about incidents and supporting police activity in the town when needed.

Our security team is out every day, talking to people, checking trouble spots, and stepping in when needed.

Please remember: These security officers do not replace the police. Residents and business owners must still report all crimes and emergencies directly to Kent Police.
