This book, published in full colour and 160 A4 pages long, is now in its third edition after only a year. It tells not only the story of Chatham House School, its famous alumni and Head teachers, but also the story of the Townley family and their influence on Ramsgate as a whole.
It also covers Andrew Carnegie’s input into Ramsgate’s literary heritage and other notable events such as the suicide of a school pupil, a member of staff dying from burns and a body discovered in a cupboard! An absorbing read for anyone, but especially those who were involved with the school and its patrons.

Profits go to the Old Ruymians’ Club, the “old boys and girls” of Chatham House, Clarendon House and Chatham and Clarendon Grammar Schools; and thence by donation to the school.
