Ramsgate Neighbourhood Plan 08.01.2015
Here are five resources we tried out and can recommend, aimed at helping us all live more sustainably (and save money!):
  1. Giki Zero: We've mentioned this great resource in the magazine before: it's a social enterprise that helps you estimate your carbon footprint and find ways to reduce it. You can check out suggestions, set yourself challenges, get reminders and track your progress step by step in whichever areas of your life you choose. There's a section to help businesses reduce their carbon footprint too. It's available through the Giki website at https://giki.earth and as an app on Google Play and the Apple Store.

  2. Action Net Zero: Another website with a variety of hints and tips, YouTube videos and recommendations, aimed at individuals and companies - www.actionnetzero.org

  3. Better Century: A website www.bettercentury.org full of information and resources for individuals and organisations who want to have a positive impact on nature and the climate. Also offers the Net Positive Life App – www.bettercentury.org/net-positive-life-app

  4. Moral Fibres: A sustainable living website with information on zero waste and sustainable living, plus topical tips like greener holidays or a lower-waste Christmas. You can sign up for a monthly newsletter too. You can find it at www.moralfibres.co.uk

  5. Specifically for energy: Get Energy Savvy, a website and blog with the option of email updates and lots of practical, straightforward information on staying warm in the winter, cool in the summer and reducing your energy use www.getenergysavvy.info

Are there other resources you can recommend to readers of this magazine? Contact us at info@ramsgatetown.org with your recommendations and we’ll feature them in a future issue.
