Ellington Park Bandstand
Good news! The contract to fully restore our Victorian bandstand has been awarded to Lost Art UK Wigan – the award-winning specialists in conservation and restoration of historic structures.

The bandstand will be dismantled and taken to Wigan to be restored and then reassembled in the park. The whole project should take three months.

The completed bandstand will be secured behind hoardings temporarily until the official opening of the cafe and toilets has taken place. The Friends welcome any budding Banksy artists to decorate the hoardings and the best displays will be shown.

The cafe and toilets construction will follow hot on the heels of the bandstand works. As soon as the bandstand is back in its rightful place, do pop along to see what stage the restoration process has reached.

We are hoping the May Fair can restart in 2021 in time to do our bit for the bicentenary celebration of the Royal Harbour and Ramsgate.

We look forward to seeing you.
