It's widely recognised that being active, socialising and making healthier life choices can be hugely beneficial to our mental and physical wellbeing. Active Thanet is an ongoing service that Thanet District Council runs in collaboration with a range of local and national partners, to help Thanet's residents of all ages to do just that.

With a focus on benefiting entire communities, Active Thanet aims to inspire residents of all ages including young people and families to develop healthy habits for life. Each week, the team delivers several different events for local people to take part in.

Programmes include:
Sport4NRG - youth sports activities. Free in term time.
B:Active - activities for the whole family.
Active Minds - working with the Department for Work and Pensions to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of customers, supporting them back into work or volunteering.
360 Health - health and wellbeing session for adults.

There is also an events programme, Fit & Fed, which runs during the school holidays. During this time, we work with various local clubs and organisations to provide activity sessions and healthy meals for young people in Thanet to tackle holiday hunger, isolation and inactivity.

If you want to know more or fancy joining any of the activities taking place, please visit or start following Active Thanet on your favourite social media platform.
