Kent Association for the Blind
Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) is a local charity who support those living with a visual impairment to lead independent lives, by offering a range of training to those with sight loss as well as their families. We also provide other services, such as running over 40 clubs offering leisure and social activities as well as a digital talking news service which, is free of charge to hundreds of homes each week.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help us with a range of activities, but most urgently, we are seeking volunteer befrienders in the Thanet area. This involves visiting sight impaired people in their own homes for a cup of tea and a chat. They may also accompany people on outings, visits to friends, or attend appointments. A few of our volunteer visitors are asked to help with reading personal correspondence and help with light paperwork. It is a very rewarding role, and a fantastic opportunity to make new friends.

A Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), volunteer training, and on-going support will be provided by the organisation for these roles.
